palimpsest: pen and gouache drawings

In photography, a multiple exposure is produced when more than one image is taken on the same bit of film, often producing unpredictable and layered results.
These drawings are multiple exposures. They explore how people become who they are based on expectations, time, place, accident, circumstance.

Credit where it’s due: All words have been misappropriated from lyrics by Glenn Richards, I hope he doesn’t mind.
The people were appropriated from pictures in the State Library of NSW archives.

Gouache was done by Lingsi Lu on these ones: don’t re-enrol, be ever lonely and angry inside of that, how it plays out, vanish my floor.

These were exhibited at the first event by The Chamber Project at Colbourne Ave on 10 Dec 2014.   Mixed media (pen, pencil, watercolours, gouache, paper on plywood)
